To get noticed on those systems, you typically have to post rates competitive with the most aggressive banks on the platform — and many of the institutions posting those rates aren't in strong financial shape; they're simply desperate for deposits at any cost. That dynamic can push you to pay 25 to 50 basis points higher than necessary just to be seen. Once your name is broadcast nationally, expect weeks of inbound calls after your funding need is already met, often from depositors who aren't the fit you were looking for.
